It’s incontestable that a website
needs visitors (traffic) to make money online. You may have the most impressive
website on the planet, but if nobody knows where you are it’s worse than being
in limbo.
The biggest and best websites have
the resources to PAY for advertising and marketing to get in front of people. They pay big money for
this.
But you don’t have to do this if you
don’t really have their resources. There are many ways to generate low cost
website traffic without having to spend what you don’t have or can’t afford.
My 5 TOP Tips to generate low cost website traffic that could
help your website get tons of free or low cost visitors.
Top Tip #1
Exchange Links are one way you can
increase the visibility of your website. If you find sites similar or
complimentary to yours, you can approach them to set up reciprocal exchanges.
This means any traffic they get can see a link to you, and any traffic you get
your exchange website can also get from links on your website. Really simple
and cheap, if not FREE.
It is vital that the exchange links
with other sites are based on being in a broadly similar niche market and that
you have similar content in common. It may be that you complement each other’s
needs. For example if your website deals with dog training a link to a site
that provides dog accessories could very well complement the needs of your (and
their) customer group.
Search engines rank websites higher if they have both
incoming and outgoing niche related exchange links with other websites or blogs. You will generate more traffic to
your website with high search engine rankings without having to pay big money
to do it.

Top Tip #2
Traffic Exchange is a slightly
different approach to exchanging links. Typically it might involve agreeing to
visit each other’s websites on a regular basis, this could be done by earning
credits rather than exchanging money, but equally you could pay a small fee to
a high ranking website for a banner or an ad on their site. You could do this
with Facebook and other social media groups and business pages too for next to
nothing.
Top Tip #3
Write and Submit Articles to article
directories and online encyclopaedias which provide free space. You can write
the articles yourself or use freelance writers to do it for you for a small
fee.
Your articles need to be themed on the content of your website. Write with authority and provide useful tips and advice to readers.

Include a resource box (also known
as a signature box) at the end of your article that links your readers to your website.
Focus on providing good quality information that will appeal to your readers to
encourage them to find out more from you.
Top Tip #4
Provide regular Newsletters. This is
not as hard as it might appear. Many writers and website owners in a similar
niche to you would happily provide free articles for your newsletter for the
free publicity they will get. In any case, a short article for a newsletter is
not that difficult to do with practice. Alternatively you could find writers
who’d produce a newsletter article for you for a modest fee.
If your newsletter articles ‘hit the
spot’ with your subscribers and the content meet their needs you can raise your
visibility and get other people to opt in to the information you provide.
Top Tip #5
Join Online Communities and Forums. There
are many online communities and forums where people gather to share and
exchange ideas and ask questions in particular
niches. Whatever your niche, there’ll be tons of people looking for
information.
Check it for yourself – just type, “(Your
Niche) communities” or “(Your Niche) forums” into your search engine and see
what comes up.
Visit these types of sites and drop
in a comment, suggestion and advice in response to members’ discussions with a
link back to your website. If you’re helping to meet their needs they are
likely to visit your website. Your main purpose though is to provide helpful
advice. The rest will follow.
Wouldn't it be great if there was some integrated software that could do many of these things for you?
